Allen Flemming’s iconoclastic, geeky, multi-disciplinary approach to fitness empowers clients—ages 10 to 94—to achieve their goals in the fastest, safest, and most fun way. His personalized exercise programs draw from weight lifting, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, boxing, dance, baseball, football, martial arts, and more.
“Give me your out-of-shape, your injured, your plateau-ed!” Personal Fitness Trainer and Founder of The Present Body Allen Flemming has been applying his innovative approach to strength and fitness development since 1976, the year he shocked his track coach with his own complete physical self-transformation.
At that time, to raise himself from literally the worst runner on his high school cross-country team to the best in one summer, Allen studied the habits of top athletes in the world. He noted how a combination of weight lifting, plyometrics, and other sports activities in the off-season make for the ideal balance of strength, flexibility, endurance, and power that leads to optimum performance.
Over the last four decades, in addition to training hundreds of people of all ages, sizes, and abilities, Allen obtained three Master’s Degrees, one in Creative Writing and two in Religious Studies, and he was the vocalist in a punk band, Beaver Cleaver and the Wallys.
He says, “My greatest accomplishments are my clients: Losing dress sizes, meeting their athletic goals, feeling good in their bodies, and dancing better and longer on this big blue ball!”
